Guided Horseback Riding
Guided Horseback Riding
Rawhide Ranch offers year-round guided horseback trail rides through our 54 acres of wooded land (weather permitting). Though our trails do not enter the park, our property is adjacent and the terrain is very similar. These rides are not just for our guests, as we are open to the general public and we do provide the horses. Want a private ride for just you and that special someone? We are offering private rides as well on the weekends when scheduling allows.
Trail rides are offered daily beginning at 10 a.m. with the
last ride departing at 4 p.m. We attempt to keep this schedule, however, we are
at the mercy of those with reservations arriving on time. As an appointment
based business activity, a reservation is the only way to guarantee a trail
ride, but we do welcome all walk-in/drive-ups. If you are looking at a ride
through the week, at least a two-hour notice is needed.

Pony Rides are a great way to get that “little buckaroo” in on the horseback riding experience. You will place your little one on the back of a horse and lead them around our round pen. The cost is $5 per ride for children 6 and younger.

Rawhide Ranch is certified to instruct Girl Scouts on the proper handling, grooming, tacking and riding to further them towards their badges. The amount of time required will entirely depend on the troop size but a typical troop will be a two hour process; one hour spent in ground lessons followed by a 45 minute trail ride.
$35 - overnight guests
$45 - general public
Horseback riding reservations must be called in and secured with a credit card. That card will not be charged unless the reservation is a no show or as result of calls within two hours of ride time to make a change. The full amount of the ride will be charged in that situation. We accept all forms of payment once you have arrived. You are welcome to pay in cash, check or via credit card.
When you make a reservation, you have reserved your horse and wrangler for that hour of activity. If you are late for your reservation, your time on that horse will be decreased. It is only fair to those who have reserved the next hour of horseback riding.
Reservations may be changed or cancelled up to two hours before your scheduled ride without being charged. If it is within the two hours, the card you used for the deposit will be charged up to the full amount of the ride.
Please keep in mind that our first priority is the safety of the rider and horse. It is our goal to get the horses up and ready for you to ride, but there are times that the weather or ground conditions are not conducive to riding. In this situation we will notify you as soon as the determination is made to shut down the trail rides. You will not be charged for your reservation in this situation.
Guest Discount Policy
The ranch guest discount applies only to those who are physically staying the night on the ranch property. We are happy to offer this discount the full day you check in through the full day that you check out of ranch lodging. When weather turns sour and the ranch cancels activities, the guest discount will be extended to a future reservation when full payment of that activity is paid within guest discount parameters.
We welcome you to review and print out our helmet and release of liability waivers for your riding experience.
