Trail Rides:Open year-round! Everyday!
Rawhide Ranch offers guided trail rides through our 54 acres of wooded land (weather permitting). Though our trails do not enter the park, our property is adjecent and mirrors the terrain. These rides are not just for our guests, we are open to the general public and we do provide the horses.
Trail rides are offered daily beginning at 10 a.m. with the last ride departing at 4 p.m. The horses depart from the barn every hour. We attempt to keep this schedule but we are at the mercy of those with reservations arriving on time. A reservation is the only way to guarantee a trail ride but we welcome all walkins. If you are looking at a ride through the week, at least a two hour notice is needed.
Cost:
$20 - overnight guests
$30 - general public
Ages:
2 to the age of 6 are double riders
7 and older ride alone.
Restrictions:
Closed toed shoes, no sandles
250# weight limit
Reservations
Horseback riding reservations must be called in and secured with a credit card. That card will not be charged unless the reservation is a no show or calls within two hours of ride time and making a change. The full amount of the ride will be charged in that situation. We accept all forms of payment once you have arrived.
Pony Rides:
Pony Rides are a great way to get that little buckaroo in on the horseback riding experience. You and your little one can relax as the reigns are in the able hands of our staff as your child sits high in the saddle. The cost is $5 per ride for children 7 and younger.
It is never the size of a horse that matters, it is the heart. We do not have ponies on the property, so we use real horses. Pony rides are offered between our normally scheduled trailrides through the day as long as we have horses up and ready.
Pony Rides:
Overnight guest/public $5
Badge Work:
Rawhide Ranch is certified to instruct Girl Scouts on the proper handling, grooming, tacking and riding to further them towards
their badges. The amount of time required will entirely depend on the troop size but a typical troop will be a two hour process; one hour spent in ground lessons followed by a 45 minute trailride.
Badge work prices:
overnight guests $30
Public $40
Family Lessons:
As a family, one of our able hands will gather you up and introduce you personally to one of our herd members. You will have the opportunity to groom, lead, pet, feed and completely interact with a horse. A pony ride is an excellent follow up to this event for the littel ones and a trail ride for the older kids.
Family lesson prices:
$5 a child (minimum of $25)
