Celebrate the country! Enjoy horseback riding, hay rides, basketball, volleyball, and horseshoes. Curl up in a gently swinging hammock, or just enjoy the panoramic view from the front porch rocking chair.
Trail Rides are offered daily (weather permitting) Discounts are available for groups and Rawhide Ranch overnight guests.
Our current pricing is $15 per person for overnight guests and $25 per person for non guests. Our trail rides last approximately an hour.
Overnight guests have access to our 54 acres of land that includes 2 fishing ponds (bring your own poles and bait), several streams, 3 horseshoe pits, basketball court, plenty of hiking, playground equipment, washer pits, corn hole (bean bag version of horseshoes), biking (bring own bike), and plenty of shady spots to relax the day away. You are also more than welcome to help us feed the horses in the morning or the evening, catch, lead, groom and saddle. We will even let you shovel, if you are looking for the complete experience.
Riding Lessons:
Partner up with Jenny as she starts you out in our arena with the basics of horseback riding and horse care. Once you are able, she will then take you for a short ride through the hills and valleys of Rawhide Ranch. The cost is $25/hour with a minimum of one hour. This is offered upon reservation.
Pony Rides:
Pony Rides are a great way to get that little buckaroo in on the horseback riding experience. You and your little one can relax as the reigns are in the able hands of our staff as your child sits high in the saddle. The cost is $5 per ride for children 7 and younger.
Hayrides:
Hayrides are a unique and fun way to experience the hills and valleys of Rawhide Ranch. Pull up a bail, sit back and relax as you are pulled through the woods. The cost is $5/person, 5 and under is free.
Geocaching
Rent a GPS unit and head into the woods to try your hand at a high tech treasure hunt. We have one cache run on the property especially for ranch guests. You can also head off into the county to search for hundreds of caches. It’s an activity for all ages and any group size from a few friends to an entire family. $15/half day rental or $25/full day rental per GPS unit.
Murder Mystery
Rawhide Ranch is now able to offer individual Murder Mystery packages. Round up a group of friends and family, bring them on down for a night of fine dining, murder, mystery, and intrigue. We are able to tailor the entire evening to your personal liking. Call for prices and options.
Badge Work
Rawhide Ranch is certified to instruct Girl Scouts on the proper handling, grooming, tacking and riding to further them towards any number of their badges.
Family Lessons
As a family, one of our able hands will gather you up and introduce you personally to one of our herd members. You will have the opportunity to groom, lead, pet, feed and completely interact with a horse. The cost is $5 a child and a pony ride is an excellent follow up to this event.
Low Ropes
Rawhide Ranch’s low ropes course offers your family, company, church group or youth group a day of building teamwork, camaraderie, communication, friendship, leadership skills and fun. The entire session runs 3 to 4 hours of activity that costs $10 a person.

Brown County Wilderness Canoe Rental
From April to November, you may rent a canoe from Brown County Wilderness Canoe Rental just four miles from Story. You may explore nameless tributaries blocked by beaver lodges, or paddle, if you like, all the way to Lake Monroe. Keep your eyes peeled for cranes, wild turkeys, coyotes and deer, or maybe a glimpse of a bald eagle. Don't forget your fishing pole!
